On July 8, 2026, a regular meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU) was held, chaired by the President of the NASU, Academician Anatoly Zagorodny.

A report titled “An Information-Analytical System for Assessing Renewable Energy Potential Based on Historical Satellite Data” was presented by Dr.Artur Zaporozhets, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of General Energy of the NAS of Ukraine.

The presentation showcased the development of an information-analytical system that leverages over 20 years of historical satellite meteorological data from NASA to assess wind and solar energy potential. The system enables statistical analysis, modeling of hybrid power plants integrated with energy storage systems, and spatial development analysis of renewable energy across Ukraine.
